With droves of feedback in favor of bot development, the newest version supports some awesome new features for Skype Bot developers to play around with.

Keep in mind that the recent upgrades are the biggest improvements operated to Skype bots since Microsoft announced the Bot Framework in March. Now, they are upping the bot feature to improve the productivity output for its users through Skype. Ask the bot what rooms are available and you can “chat” through room options, add-ons and finally a reservation. To borrow an example from Microsoft, users will be able to check into their guest account with supported hotel chains while they’re simultaneously using the bot to help them book a room.
The developer of Windows OS and Xbox consoles is also adding natural language processing to its bots.
The team is also working on a single, direct sign-in on cards, which will make it possible to authorize your credentials one time only.
Skype new chatbots include group chats, visual cards, and Bing services. Take Bing. New bots will be able to detect entities and intent, “so that natural language understanding is built right into Skype Bots – an industry first”, Lilian Rincon, Skype’s group program manager, wrote in a blog post.
With the use of Microsoft Bot Framework, your Skype Bots can be published and submitted through the bot directories.
Merging the Skype Bot Platform with Microsoft lends developers a larger platform.
The latest upgrade for chatbots, which comes only a few days after the release of Skype Meetings, clearly indicates that Microsoft is on a mission to promote Skype as a work-productivity tool.
At this year’s Build conference, Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella shared the company’s vision of a future in which artificial intelligence (AI) such as Cortana would work with bots, programmed to perform specific tasks. And someone out there is surely creating some kind of “cute animal bot” that just responds with pictures of your favorite animal-assuming you tell the bot what that is.
Microsoft is not alone in the bots race.

In the first month of availability, the Microsoft Bot Framework attracted a whopping number of 20,000 developers.
