A funeral mass is being held today for Vanessa Marcotte.

A large number of Marcotte’s colleagues from Google arrived in a large bus outside the church, where the parking lot was full.
According to her obituary, calling hours are Monday, Aug. 15, from 4-7 p.m.at the Brandon Funeral Home in Fitchburg. Burial will follow in Woodside Cemetery, Narrows Road, Westminster. State police are sifting through more than 600 tips in Vanessa’s murder. She was visiting her mother in the town of Princeton when she chose to take a jog.
Police said Marcotte was likely attacked between 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. on August 7. Her body was found about a half mile from her mother’s house. “The headline story that the entire world needs to see and read is the love that she lived every single day of her life”, said O’Brien as he stood before pews filled with Marcotte’s loved ones.
The district attorney says they are considering all possibilities and have looked into similar attacks on female joggers earlier this summer here in Northborough and Westborough. WCVB reported that police are testing DNA samples of a possible person of interest.
