Slash on Reconciling With Axl Rose: ‘It Was Probably Way Overdue’
In an interview with Swedish Aftonbladet TV, guitarist Slash reportedly declares the rockers have put their differences aside and are now on speaking terms again. One of his many eccentricities (when you’re rich and famous you get to call them eccentricities) is his penchant for showing up late, often very late.

“The reporter then took it one step further and asked the question that Slash has heard hundreds of time – whether the classic Guns N” Roses lineup will perform again. The distant relationship between the two began after Slash left Guns N’ Roses nearly two decades ago. “You know, let some of that, sort of, negative…dispel some of that negative stuff that was going on for so long”, Slash was quoted as saying during the interview.
“[Axl] hates my guts”, Slash stated in 2012. There’s just no communication between us.
But according to a Tampa DJ who worked at a venue hosting a 1991 Guns n Roses concert, Rose was late to his own gig because he couldn’t stop watching Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles II: The Secret of the Ooze.

A confirmed source for Guns N Roses told WRIF last month that Ron “Bumblefoot” Thal, is no longer a part of the band. At the time, Axl Rose penned a letter explaining why he would not be attending the ceremony. He wrote a letter that says, “So let sleeping dogs lie or lying dogs sleep or whatever. People get divorced. Life doesn’t owe you your own personal happy ending especially at another’s, or in this case, several others’, expense”, he wrote.
