Slaven Bilic moving West Ham training as injuries pile up

Centre-back Reid was injured during training and will get the results of a scan on Friday.

Bilic added: “Victor is out for four to six weeks”.

The Hammers have been badly hit by injury over the last month, with midfielder Manuel Lanzini ruled out for six weeks because of a thigh injury and striker Diafra Sakho sidelined for three months with a similar problem. Striker Enner Valencia has been out for five weeks with an ankle complaint, but could return against Stoke City on Saturday.

He was injured during a training session on Wednesday (December 9) as the top 10 team prepare for a tough examination from red-hot Stoke on Saturday (December 12).

Payet and Valencia were hurt after heavy challenges against Everton last month but the other four have suffered muscle injuries, which Bilic has blamed on the training pitches.

“We have got a few injuries in the position that I play”.

Now is the time for risks, because without them West Ham’s great season could slip away before the likes of Payet and Lanzini return with the business-end in sight.

Faced with the injury glut, Bilic has chose to bring forward the senior squad’s move to the club’s new Rush Green HQ training base, which had been scheduled for the start of next season.

Victor Moses will be out until the New Year after picking up an injury at Old Trafford.

“I’ve decided from Monday we are going to move to Rush Green and start to train there because we can’t continue to miss this many players with these kind of pitches, which are not in good shape”.

“With Reid’s injury, for example, they are slippery on the top but rock hard underneath, and it is a bad combination”. So I have made the decision to go now to Rush Green, where the pitches are better.
