SmackDown Recap: The Headbangers Return
For a match that was just made on last week’s episode of “WWE SmackDown Live”, with two weeks left before the show, AJ Styles vs. WWE Champion Dean Ambrose is right on track. On the show, Daniel Bryan called The Miz a “coward” for how he competes in the ring and the Intercontinental Champion fired back with a tirade aimed at the GM, telling Daniel that he’s never been injured and saying that Bryan can not even compete in WWE anymore. They faced Heath Slater, who’s battling for a contract, and Rhyno.

The tag teams are now weeding themselves out in a tournament that will see the finals on the Backlash PPV for the new Smackdown tag team titles.
The SmackDown Tag Team Championship tournament continued last night, as The Hype Bros. dominated The Vaudevillains, to make it three babyface teams in the semifinals. Two teams have already advanced in the tournament: The Usos and American Alpha. The babyfaces were distracted when Carmella attacked Nikki Bella, who was on commentary for the match. The winners of this match will face The Hype Bros in the semi-finals of the tournament.
Following last night’s SmackDown Live show from Dallas, Texas, Mosh and Thrasher, The Headbangers, appeared on one of the Fallout videos and spoke about their return on this week’s show and whether it was a one-time appearance or not. The two waged war in the best match of the night, but it was Styles that pulled off the win. So much for the return of the Headbangers.
And Styles, before wrecking the main-event result, earned his own win against Apollo Crews.
The main event sees WWE world heavyweight champion Dean Ambrose taking on the challenge of AJ Styles.

Predictably, Ambrose was none-too-happy and sparked a post-match brawl at ringside with Styles that drew SmackDown to a close. When Styles recovers, he hits Corbin with a kick on the apron and the three fight to end the show.
