Twenty-two people were killed and 123 injured in yesterday’s blast at the Ratchaprasong intersection.

Police investigate the scene after an explosion in Bangkok, Monday, August 17, 2015.

Video shows a device landing in the river near the pier, sending water shooting into the air as tourists scramble to get out of the way.

The unidentified man threw the explosive near a busy pier on the city’s Chao Phraya river and it landed in a canal, said Colonel Natakit Siriwongtawan, deputy police chief of Klongsan district. It’s also a major touriststop, especially for Chinese tour groups.

The luxury Shangri-La hotel, the Mandarin Oriental and the French embassy are close to Saphan Taksin station.
