Smart excited about good first week with Georgia recruits
Jacob Eason hasn’t corralled dinosaurs or traded one-liners with Iron Man – yet – but his off-the-field life is similar to that of one of the various actors named Chris starring at a theater near you.

“I think his visit went great this weekend”, Smart said on Monday.
The first recruiting commitment of the Kirby Smart era in Athens has seen enough and said it’s time for a dynasty at Georgia. Georgia lost a commitment from four-star quarterback Bailey Hockman Monday morning, but luckily for Smart, there’s still time to regain a commitment from Hockman, who’s in the 2017 class. Obviously, holding onto Eason would take some of the pressure off though, and it would put Georgia in a position to re-tool instead of re-build. While he is recruiting and planning for 2016 at Georgia, Smart still feels the need to coach the Tide for the rest of the season on their Playoff run.
According to a source, both coaches are unclear about their standing with Smart and whether or not they’ll be asked to return. “I think I can tell you that I am pretty popular with other guys, and I will reach out to them”. “You sit in staff meetings and talk a lot about recruiting. We worked together at the University of Alabama”. The new coach also reaps the benefits of whatever recruiting had been done prior to his arrival.
Despite the interest from Alabama and other schools, Eason committed to the Bulldogs in July 2014.
Chaney was Pitt’s offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach.
What once seemed like a loss for Smart while at Alabama stands as a huge win.
LeCounte had visited Ohio State a handful of times and was always interested in the Buckeyes, but on Sunday the 5-foot-11, 174-pounder announced his commitment to Georgia on Twitter.

“I’m one that’s been advised by a lot of mentors and a lot of people to not be in a big rush”, Smart said. “He was already here”. “We just had to make sure we could pitch him that this was the right place for him”.
