And, of course, once you connect Google Home to your Google universe, the appliance will also plumb the depths of your Music collection and other Googlely entry points. While the Google Cast app will be rebranded, you’ll still use the casting technology to beam information to a device like the Chromecast or a home speaker.

To that end, Alphabet Inc., Google’s parent company, also rolled out its answer to the Amazon Echo – a cylindrical household gadget called Google Home [pictured above].
To interact with the speaker, you simply say, “OK, Google” or tap on the capacitive top surface.

As first seen with Amazon Echo’s role in a colonoscopy where it obeyed doctor’s commands to take and label pictures, Google Home may help doctors in a similar function, partly due to its software’s ability to understand human speech patterns that allow doctors to quickly communicate orders.
On the home assistant front, Google also announced its Home device, which will also cost $129.

Google Home, which was initially teased at another Google event earlier this year, is a smart home hub that aims to do just that. Kudos to Google for offering users the choice of encrypting their messages, but I wished we lived in a world where people could use Google’s cool new feature while keeping their messages secure at the same time.
