Smith backs Leicester to become Premier League ‘force’

It is a day of celebration supporters of this unheralded club never anticipated. Inside me there are two people.

Ranieri’s side are only the sixth team to have won the Premier League, as the English top tier was rebranded in 1992, and the Italian does not foresee another unlikely champion emerging anytime soon.

Aiyawatt said: “We manage the team like running a family”.

The insane odds offered on Claudio Ranieri’s relegation candidates to pull off the most unlikely title triumph of all time have allowed some optimistic punters to pick up huge winnings as the Foxes wrapped up their improbable glory with two games to spare.

Claudio Ranieri – the 8th different manager to win the Premier League at the ripe old age of 64 – will want his side to sign off in style, and ramp up the pressure on Roberto Martinez in the process.

“I don’t want big names here, I don’t want to break the dressing room”. If we link very well we can do something good’.

“Leicester was the Cinderella who was going to win the richest League in the world, so everyone loved it”.

That kind of windfall would see the Foxes easily crack the top 20 of the Deloitte Football Money League next season, which measures the wealthiest clubs on the planet by annual revenue.

– Since their last home Premier League defeat where they conceded five against Arsenal, the Foxes have shipped just seven goals in 14 games at the King Power stadium, keeping nine clean sheets in that run.

“I don’t regret it for one moment that I said “yes” to Chelsea”. “In Thailand, the first team is Leicester”.

“It is going to be very emotional”.

What makes Leicester’s success so surprising is that their squad was assembled for just £57m, compared to over £300m spend by the likes of Manchester United, Manchester City and Chelsea.

Danny Drinkwater is banned after his red card against Manchester United but Matty James could feature after recovering from a knee injury which had kept him out for a year.

Andy King and Marcin Wasilewski are expected to deputise and Ranieri may use the opportunity to give game-time to other players who have played supporting roles in the campaign.

They will be crowned shock champions after Saturday’s final home game of the season against Everton and Ranieri insisted he never had any doubts over his return.

Everton are now 11th in the 20-strong division, with many fans calling for Martinez to go, but the Toffees boss said replicating Leicester’s feat would be no easy task. “We’ll congratulate them and from that point on we’ll focus on trying to perform against them”.

No sequel to fairytale? Ranieri feels there won't be another Leicester for next twenty years
