Javadekar, who was in charge of Environment and Forest Ministry and was the lone Minister to be promoted to the Cabinet rank, on Tuesday, said that under Modi, there is a lot of focus on education.

Meanwhile, industry body Texprocil on Wednesday welcomed the appointment of Smriti Irani as the new Union Minister for Textiles, and hoped to get her support in increasing exports and generating employment.
The new Parliamentary Affairs minister said that he will try to take all parties along in running the house and getting GST passed will be top priority. “For me, the challenge is improving the quality of education and I would require all support in my endeavour”, he said.
On persistent questioning about her being moved out of the HRD Ministry, Irani said, “There have been so many questions and so many things being said”.
Asked about the demands raised by several states for not sharing the New Education Policy, Javadekar said, “We are in dialogue with all the states on all the issues”. But what really does Smriti Irani’s exit from the Education portfolio mean? “I accept the responsibility with humility”, he said.
She sparked a row after HRD Ministry took the decision to replace German with Sanskrit as the third language in Kendriya Vidyalayas in October 2014. He also accused Irani of taking unnecessarily harsh action against students and getting personally involved in student politics. She even had spats with senior BJP ministers including JP Nadda, Venkaiah Naidu and even Arun Jaitley, the report noted.
Sources close to Irani told IANS that she had had an inkling she might be shifted out from the HRD ministry.
One of the possible reasons behind this could be the controversies surrounding her during the two-year tenure. The Prime Minister he said had a vision for education that he would tap in scripting a roadmap for education.
Irani has been appointed as the new textiles minister.
About her new portfolio, Irani vowed to strengthen textile and apparel sectors and said her efforts will be primarily directed towards skill development and engaging more youngsters.

The officials of the Ministry had organized an event for Javadekar’s farewell and to welcome the new minister.
