Snap Officially Responds To Petition Demanding To Bring Back Old Design
The update didn’t seem to placate angry users. Thus, the redesign. Now we wait to see if Snapchat users, like Facebook users, are willing to get over the changes after making such a fuss.

The first comes through a partnership with Giphy. GIFs can be resized and moved around or added multiple times. It calls for Snap Inc.to reverse the design change while keeping some of the new features that have been added.
Another feature aims to address users’ complaints surrounding the redesign and finding content.
But some users are reporting that they’ve lost streaks they’ve built up with friends due to the new update pushing their friends further down their screen.
Petitioners were rewarded with a response from Snap yesterday, but the lukewarm reply isn’t what they asked for. According to the company, these new tabs are soon going to be released for Android and iOS.
Also this week, Snap is rolling out Tabs, a new feature for users to organize and view Stories of their liking.
The Snapchat redesign was meant to be more user friendly and compete more aggressively against the Instagram app by Facebook (FB) as well as Twitter (TWTR). “Snapchat’s redesign seemingly hasn’t made progress at all”, he told Sputnik. A major redesign of the app was met with a negative response in some quarters – and even a Change.org petition to revert to the old version. Now, there’s a designated page for publishers and celebrities, and a separate page for friends.
Maybe the app’s bosses should hire Kylie as their new designer. It’s no longer “Instagram only confusing”. Though I agree with his philosophy that it does validate they’ve made a change, I don’t agree with his conclusion that this immediately makes it a good update. She pointed out that there might have been fewer people using their Snapchat accounts, possibly because of the new design.

Opportunities can abound for brand managers using Snapchat, too, despite the redesign backlash. Sneakerheads are used to using apps to pick up shoes, so it makes some sense to lure them into using the in-app storefront. Not only this, there are also many other GIF options available. Kylie Jenner is one of the most important people on social media and one of the original “influencers”.
