Games have made their way into Snapchat. Williams is expected to break a record despite an early loss at the Olympics this summer.
Serena Match Point isn’t ground-breaking in terms of mechanics; input depends on a single tap, though you can vary the location of your tap to achieve different effects. It also recently debuted a similar tech-oriented project with ESPN, teaming up with Shazam to digitize its magazine covers.
Snapchat users start by swiping right to reach the Discover section and tap on ESPN.
Level 23 will unlock on September 10 – the same day as the U.S. Open Women’s Finals, which could be Williams’ record-breaking 23rd major title win, if she happens to advance that far next month.
“Serena Match Point” is sitting inside ESPN’s Discover channel on Snapchat as an ad. Users have three chances to win a match point before they fail a level. They can also go to SerenaMatchPoint.com via mobile or desktop to play the game. Racking up Williams’s titles is no walk in the park, as it turns out.

Williams has a long history with Gatorade, most recently starring in a new ad alongside Olympic running champion Usain Bolt that shows the athletes consuming the sports drink to fuel their workouts.
