Snapchat is reportedly finalizing an acquisition of Vurb, a search app for smartphones, for well over $100 million in stock and cash, according to The Information.

Now the Vurb app connects people with Yelp, Uber, Netflix, Fandango, Google Maps, Rotten Tomatoes, Metacritic, Foursquare, Tastemade, and others, and allows users to explore anything from sights to see, restaurants to try, books to read, events, music, and more; results and suggestions are based on a users’ interests, what’s trending, time of day, weather, and location. This all takes place within the app, saving you from having to hop between providers to get things done. It might, for example, offer the ability to add Vurb-generated content to Snaps, add new ways to recommend Stories, or make it easier for users to find new people to follow.

With both companies yet to offer any official word on the reported deal, it’s impossible to say precisely to what extent Snapchat will incorporate Vurb’s technology into its own service. Hopefully all will be revealed soon.
