He carded a brilliant three-under 69 on Sunday, completing his round shortly before play was halted due to unplayable conditions at Torrey Pines outside San Diego.

Brandt Snedeker won the Farmers Insurance Open without swinging a club on the final day of play at Torrey Pines.

If you’re wondering why there’s live golf being played on Monday afternoon at the Farmers Insurance Open, these photos explain it. Wind uprooted multiple large trees on the course and knocked them into the fairways and rough all over the track. “So it’s a special feeling to say the least”. He was at 7 under overall, one shot ahead of Snedeker and K.J. Choi, who is playing in the final group.

The average score for the final round was 77.9, the highest for a fourth round at a regular PGA Tour event since the tour began keeping such statistics in 1983.

Streelman and Jacobson both endured turbulent rounds as the former made three birdies, two bogeys and a double bogey to finish on one-over after 13 holes, while the latter recorded two birdies, two bogeys and a double bogey to end up on two-over after 11 holes. Ultimately, Walker and 36-hole co-leader Choi were unable to match Snedeker’s 6-under-282 total.

Snedeker, who had only just made the cut, had been able to complete his final round, producing a remarkable 69 given the conditions to take top spot on the leaderboard on six-under having started the day six shots off the leaders KJ Choi and Scott Brown.

“You would not imagine what was going through my head”, Snedeker said of his anxious night spent worrying about the weather and whether he was really likely to find himself collecting his eighth US PGA Tour title. The only volunteers who will be working Monday will be driving the vans used to evacuate the players if necessary.

THE ROUND: Snedeker missed a 15-foot par putt on his opening hole, and he wasn’t alone. “I hit some good shots”.

“One of my best rounds on tour, by far”, he said.

“I went to the putting green to practise early in the morning as I knew I had to get that birdie to force a play-off”, Spieth said.

On Sunday, the approach into the 15th hole was a wedge for most players.

Walker finished with +5 for the fourth round to finish tied for fourth.
