‘SNL’: Ariana Grande Wants a Scandal
On SNL, Grande was allowed to be as weird as she wanted-the sort of weirdness that Grande’s casual fans likely didn’t even know they wanted from her.

In what’s becoming a tradition this season, the show kicked off with a cold open spoofing the latest Donald Trump news story, which this time involved Trump (played to perfection once again by Darrell Hammond) receiving the endorsement of Dr. Ben Carson (Jay Pharoah).
That sketch was great, and you should totally watch it and bask in the awesomeness, but what I really want to talk about is Ariana’s impression, in a Celebrity Family Feud sketch, of Jennifer Lawrence. We’re sure J Law herself would strongly approve.
Lawrence (Grande) was dressed just like the American Hustle star in a short blonde bob as she rang the buzzer and answered. Ari completely rocked her mermaid tail and sounded unbelievable singing a few notes of some mermaid spell.
Tidal: In a desperate attempt to save Tidal, the company’s shy intern (Grande) is forced to do her best impressions of Britney Spears, Celine Dion, Rihanna and more. They sing and dance across the beach at Coney Island, working very hard to be inclusive and not to offend anyone by trying to write a song that “captures every woman’s deal”. With the first live performance of “Be Alright”, a new track from Dangerous Woman, Grande left her audience entirely spellbound and with no doubt that her newest album is going to be a runaway success.
It’s Ariana Grande‘s world and we’re just living in it, or at least that’s how it feels after watching her completely slay as the host of this week’s episode of Saturday Night Live.
Now, Grande is a talented individual when it comes to her day job. It also featured a rather impressive performance where she wondered what her scandal will be as an adult star.
It shouldn’t be too surprising, given that Grande is first and foremost an actress having starred in Nickelodeon’s “Victorious” and its spin-off “Sam & Cat” as a teenager.
