Snoop’s the executive producer and also wrote and performed the theme song for the show which is due to debut on 5th September on MTV.
Snoop Dogg is heading up a new comedy for MTV.
Snoop’s role in the series was announced at a Television Critics Association tour event on Sunday morning, though the rapper was not on hand. The executive producers opened up that it was a bit challenging to invite huge stars in the show since Scout Durwood and Jessica Rothe are just new.
The show will follow two female twenty-something best mates, played by Jessica Rothe and Scout Durwood, who run an all-female marijuana delivery service in Los Angeles. “He’s like a Snoop Fairy”. “You have to watch all the way to an end to see him”, she added, although they did not reveal which episode he will feature in.
Aside from the “Young, Wild & Free” rapper, celebrity guest stars such as Seth Green, Missi Pyle, Leonard Roberts and Andy Daly are also going to be the show’s special guests during Season 1. Dogg will produce Mary + Jane via his Merry Jane production company, a firm dedicated to marijuana, which he founded with media entrepreneur Ted Chung a year ago.

And the show’s creative team is hoping for even more cameos, should MTV order a second season.
