Snow showers coming as temperatures dive after extended mild spell
It’s more of a late winter nuisance stretch of weather.

Snow showers and a few squalls are working across the state today, and this action will continue into Thursday.
We’re tracking the wintry mix making roads wet for your morning drive – on Channel 11 Morning News. After lunchtime, additional light rain and snow showers will begin to pop up across the area. Rain/Snow and wind are possible for late Thursday and through Friday.
It’s overnight and Wednesday that we need to pay attention to. The coldest stretch will be Thursday through Saturday with highs in the lower to middle 30s and lows in the 20s. So, I’ve thrown in a chance of snow showers Monday evening and Tuesday. Brr!
Coverage of the snow and rain showers is very scattered throughout the day, so morning commuters could get lucky, or just run into a light mix. The storm will intensify on Wednesday and the time of peak precipitation is likely on Wednesday afternoon, during peak intensification offshore. But under some of the heavier snow showers, visibility could be reduced for the morning commute Wednesday. New snow accumulation of less than one inch possible.
Saturday night: A chance of rain. Off and on snow showers are now expected during the morning and winds will blow up to 22 miles per hour.
This is a complicated system, and changes in the forecast are likely.
