Snowstorm could drop several inches of snow in New Jersey

There will be an enhanced corridor of moderate to locally heavy accumulating snow from Philadelphia to Baltimore and near or just north of Washington, D.C.

The NWS issued a winter weather advisory for coastal CT, including southern Fairfield and New Haven counties, from 6 p.m. Tuesday until noon on Wednesday.

Friday night: Mostly clear, low around 2 below. Another 1 to 2 inches is expected Tuesdaynight into early Wednesday.

Winds will be north, 10-20 miles per hour, with gusts up to 35 miles per hour. The heavier snowfall in Suffolk means that visibility will be even lower than in Nassau, with visibility reduced to less than a quarter mile at times throughout the day. Temperatures will drop to the mid-teens.

Snow. Patchy blowing snow after 1pm. Chance of precipitation is 90%. Wind chills of 5 below to 15 below. Once again, activity will be hit or miss and a light accumulation is possible on the order of a coating to an inch. Cloudy, with a high near 35. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New snow accumulation of less than one inch possible. This is especially true Tuesday night into Wednesday as snow showers remain possible with a low of 27.

By Wednesday, weather conditions should begin to improve throughout the region, with sunny skies and warmer temperatures in the outlook. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 30.

A 30 percent chance of snow showers before 3am.

Saturday: Cloudy, with a high near 21.

Mostly cloudy, with a low around 8.

Saturday night: Partly cloudy, low around 1. Highs will make it into the 40s for Thursday and Friday but will be back in the 30s over the weekend.

Satellite imagery, along with local radar, is clearly showing the big spin associated with an upper level low that is tracking by through Thursday.
