Speaking on the Hall of Justice podcast, Snyder was asked whether the reactions to Man of Steel – and in particular its still-debated ending – affected his plans in crafting Batman v Superman. From there, the DC Expanded Universe will unravel to introduce David Ayer’s Suicide Squad later in 2016. Earlier today, Water Tower Music released the Batman theme, entitled “Men Are Still Good (The Batman Suite), which you can listen to below”. And we haven’t even mentioned Lex Luthor, Doomsday and other familiar names from DC Comics.

Batman v Superman will feature cameos from the Flash, Aquaman, and Cyborg, who will all appear in the upcoming two-part Justice League film also being directed by Snyder.
“My point is that we don’t take liberties [from the characters’ comic origins]…what we’ve done is create a place where they can really be the mythological characters as designed in the comic books”, Snyder added. “It’s a whisper that they exist”.
We previously got a look at the Gal Gadot Wonder Woman and Ben Affleck Batman Barbie figures for Batman Vs. Superman. That’s pretty much the “why” of the movie. And with Batman and Superman at war with one another, a new threat quickly arises, putting mankind in greater danger than it’s ever known before. “It’s nearly like an American tradition now, we’ve established that these characters will be played and played again, and they exist outside of us in this moment”. But to toss out the words “true canon” in defence of “Man Of Steel” is a bold move, and I’m sure fans will have plenty to say. It’s okay if Snyder wants to start dropping hints about future developments, but jumping right into the “Avengers” style team-up would feel forced and undeserved.
