So Jon Jones Says He’ll be Ready to Scrap April 23rd…

It’s been a long and troubled journey for ex-UFC light-heavyweight champion Jon Jones, as he’s faced controversy following a failed UFC 182 drug test and an infamous New Mexico hit and run that could’ve seen “Bones” jailed for five years.

The UFC has tentatively reserved New York’s famed Madison Square Garden on April 23.

April 23, of course, is no random point on the calendar.

If the NYC event falls through though then it’s entirely possible that UFC 198 would be switched to a different state on the same night which would may suit both parties, with Jones not having to adjust his expected return date, and Cormier not having to concern himself with the possibility of fighting his rival in his own backyard. With the current champion Daniel Cormier looking better than ever in performances against Anthony Johnson and Alexander Gustafsson, odds are the rematch with “Bones” could be a ton better than their first meeting last January. It is believed Jones will get an immediate crack at champ Daniel Cormier to reclaim his throne upon return.

‘Started powerlifting June 1, 2015, ‘ he wrote.

Cormier has said that, when he negotiated a new contract with UFC officials, he was told they would revisit his next fight after a well-deserved holiday break for the champion. ‘In just about seven months of training four days a week my body has made a complete transformation.

Which makes you wonder, is the UFC going to pressure Cormier into putting the belt on the line at the Madison Square Garden Event, or is Jones going to fight someone else to make be on the card?
