Corona Del Mar State Beach – where the attack happened – will reopen Wednesday morning after a final helicopter and boat survey of the waters, Lifeguard Battalion Chief Brent Jacobsen told ABC News Tuesday.
Doctors expected Maria Korcsmaros to survive but said it was too early to know whether she will regain full use of her arm.
Finnigan had said the woman was conscious and breathing when she was taken the hospital.
The attack prompted authorities to clear the ocean water of swimmers from the Balboa Pier south to Crystal Cove State Beach.
A stretch of shoreline near Newport Beach was closed as crews searched unsuccessfully for the shark that bit Korcsmaros. She was bitten while swimming about 100 yards offshore, just outside buoys marking a protected swimming area near where boats travel.

A 13-year-old boy was bitten Sunday by a shark on the right leg in Neptune, Fla.
Key said a lifeguard tower called in the incident, and the boy was rushed to the hospital to be treated for an eight-inch bite behind his right knee and top of his calf. He suffered non-life-threatening injuries.
Key also said it was the first shark attack of the season at the beach.

The ISAF added, however, that the rate of attacks has gone down, given that humans are spending much more time in the ocean.
