Socceroos shoot up Federation Internationale de Football Association world rankings after World Cup qualifier wins
The Socceroos surged 12 places in the latest rankings after sitting in 57th spot last month.

World Cup qualifying wins over Iraq at home and a the UAE away in September put the Australians up to second in the Asian confederation.
The Socceroos have not been ranked this high since 2012 when the then Holger Osieck-coached side were placed at number 36.
Both played their first ever World Cup qualifiers this month, with Kosovo drawing in Finland and winning against the Faroe Islands while Gibraltar lost both games.
Brazil have moved back into the top five in the latest Federation Internationale de Football Association world rankings after making a big jump up from ninth spot, while Gibraltar and Kosovo made history with their first World Cup qualifying matches. Iran are the top ranked nation in Asia (37th).
Wales have moved inside the top 10 in men’s world football.
Argentina remain the World’s top ranked side, followed by Belgium and Germany.
England have moved up one place to 12th, with Italy sliding three spots down to 13th, while Scotland, Australia, Greece and Uzbekistan all clambered into the top 50. Brazil jump up five places to joint fourth after victories over Colombia and Ecuador in the World Cup qualifiers.

The Central African Republic took the biggest dive, dropping 35 spots to 122nd having been hammered 4-1 by Congo DR.
