Soldier tells court teen girlfriend killed her mom, not him

Webster conceded that Barnes, an Army specialist who was stationed at Fort Meade in Maryland at the time of the killing, helped his girlfriend clean up the crime scene and bury her mother’s body.

When she pleaded guilty, Jamie Silvonek admitted lying to Barnes about her age during their six-month relationship by saying she was 16.

She told the court Friday she was “in love” with the 22-year-old Barnes. Cheryl Silvonek then came back out to the vehicle to see where her daughter was and caught the couple.

The teenager then texted Barnes, “She threatened to throw me out of the house”.

“I owned up to the fact that I, I wanted it to happen”.

Later, she wrote to him, “Just do it”, authorities said.

Police say after Ms Silvonek was killed, her daughter and Barnes drove to Wamart and purchased alcohol, bleach and other cleaning products. Mueller said she got out of bed and looked out the window.

“I feel like with my skills I can convince her to give you another shot”.

The prosecutor showed jurors a series of text message Barnes and Jamie allegedly exchanged in the week leading up to the killing. “That leaves us as the suspects”.

“It’s a horror story for me”, he told The Morning Call newspaper.
