Taking the No. 1 spot at the box office: “The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 2″.

“Part 2” held on to its first-place spot in its second weekend in theatres, earning $51.6 million to top “The Good Dinosaur” and “Creed“, which both debuted Wednesday, according to Rentrak estimates on Sunday.

Disney and Pixar’s animated film, The Good Dinosaur, debuted this weekend and came in second behind Hunger Games at the box office. Charlie Brown and Snoopy have grossed $116.8 million domestically since the film’s November 6 launch.

No records were broken this Thanksgiving weekend, but that’s more of a sign of a crowded slate than the health of the box office, Dergarabedian said. Third place went to the latest installment in the Rocky franchise, Creed, in which Stallone continues to breathe new life into an aging character. It’s hard to call a movie that has grossed $198.3 million over just 10 days a disappointment. The adaptation of the Charles Schulz comic strip picked up $13.6 million, pushing its total to $116.6 million. The film has now grossed more than two of Daniel Craig’s previous James Bond outings “Casino Royale” ($167.4 million) and “Quantum of Solace” ($168.4 million), but seems unlikely to match the high-water mark set by “Skyfall” ($304.4 million). The movie also garnered $62 million internationally over the weekend. It has received mostly negative reviews, but the timing of its release could also have contributed to its failure; this is the kind of movie that could have performed better in September or October, not in the middle of the holiday blockbuster and awards season.

And where “Inside Out” was adult-friendly just as much as it targeted children, “The Good Dinosaur” seems to be exclusively in the kids’ corner.

The new MGM and New Line Cinema-financed “Creed” rounded out the weekend’s top three with $42.6 million.

The rest 10 most-popular movies in North America in three-day weekend frame were “Spectre” (12.8 million dollars), “The Peanuts Movie” (9.7 million), “The Night Before” (8.2 million), “Secret In Their Eyes” (4.5 million), “Spotlight” (4.5 million), “Brooklyn” (3.8 million) and “The Martian” (3.3 million). In its second weekend, Carol took in a $203,076 from four locations in NY and Los Angeles for a theater average of $50,769 and cume of $588,355 for The Weinstein Co.
