Parrikar had yesterday said a lot of resources have been deployed to work to locate the missing aircraft and that the Ministry was doing its best to find out leads.

Several agencies, including National Institute of Ocean Technology (NIOT) and Indian National Centre for Ocean Information Services (NCOIS), were coordinating in the search operations and if needed vessel of NIOT “Sagar Nidhi” which is on its way from Mauritius will be used for search operations, he said.

The Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar today said that no case involving corruption in defence procurements undertaken during the last two years has come to light.

Parrikar also refuted claims of a senior Coast Guard official who said that the emergency locator transmitter (ELT) had not functioned during the Dornier crash.
“I think the submarine finally located the Dornier with the same beeps”.
Asserting that the government had spared no efforts in locating the plane, Parrikar said the government had used satellite imagery and deployed 30 ships and submarines for the objective.

DPP 2016 provides that a foreign vendor is required to disclose full details of any such person, party, firm or institution engaged by them for marketing of their equipment in India, either on a country specific basis or as a part of a global or regional arrangement, Mr Parrikar said.
