He questioned as to why the Sindh government was leveling allegations to save “one man” [from being getting caught]. Information Minister Maula Bux Chandio says the Karachi Operation is against terrorists.

“If things do not change, then I will present some options on behalf of the federal government”, he further warned.

The advisor said Sindh government has full confidence on Pakistan army, adding that ongoing operation in Karachi against criminal elements would continue.

“We appreciate Rangers and the gains they have made in the security operation are undeniable”, Chandio said, adding that the Sindh government is not a hurdle in the extension of Rangers’ special powers in the province.

“The issue is in Sindh assembly and should not seem to be in a hurry over the issue pertaining to Rangers powers”, Chandio stated this while talking to media persons in Hyderabad.

“For a week now, Rangers is serving on the streets of Karachi without legal cover”.

It has been a week since the special policing powers of Rangers in Karachi has come to an end after a four-month extension given to them in August.

A day earlier, the Chief Minister had assured of extending the powers of Rangers in the meeting of Sindh Apex Committee.

The AKTI statement appreciated the role of the Rangers towards the law and order in the metropolis.

In a statement today, Ghani said both the ministers have in fact endorsed the stance of the Sindh provincial government that not only the law enforcement authorities under the administrative aegis of the federal government but also the federal government itself are conniving to oppress the provincial autonomy.
