Some questions, answers about Minneapolis police shooting
Hundreds of people marched through downtown Seattle streets and shops as part of a Black Lives Matter protest on Black Friday. Police were said to have taken camouflage jackets and trousers, a tactical vest, ammunition, several gun cases and six pellet guns from Scarsella’s residence.

MINNEAPOLIS (AP) – The fatal shooting of a black man by a Minneapolis police officer has prompted almost two weeks of protests and led to calls for answers as state and federal authorities continue to investigate.
Hennepin County Attorney Mike Freeman told the Star-Tribune that an extenstion for prosecutors to file charges against the four men expires at noon Monday. They wanted the names of the officers involved in the shooting, and they have been identified.
In the wake of the shootings, Clark’s family asked for protesters to end the 4th Precinct encampment out of safety concerns, and U.S. Rep. Keith Ellison said it would be wise to “start thinking about an exit strategy” and what to do next. Three are white, and the race of the fourth is Asian.
Howell told mourners during Wednesday’s funeral that what’s needed now is a special state legislative session to address the needs of Minnesota’s minority community. She says protesters respect the family’s wishes but aren’t going anywhere “until we get justice for Jamar Clark”. Ali noted that it took more than a year before Chicago officials on Tuesday released footage of the police shooting death of a black teenager.
Jamar Clark, 24, died on 16 November.
Tensions rose further on Monday when five protesters were shot and wounded near the police station. Holding rallies and marches during daylight hours, with appropriate security and communication with police, would make it less likely that protesters and the public would be at risk.
“Police actions in a democratic society need to be open and transparent”, Jenn Kaplan of the National Lawyers Guild’s Seattle Chapter said recently. Some who say they saw the shooting allege Clark was handcuffed when he was shot, but police have disputed that.
