Someday I’ll Be Able to Afford Leica’s New Instant Camera

With a price of $299 (roughly Rs. 20,000), Leica Sofort is a member of the budget camera segment, and will hit stores shelves starting November.

Premium camera manufacturer Leica has announced a new instant camera called the Leica Sofort. The camera will come in three colors that the designer says reflects the fun of instant photography – mint, orange, and white.

After Fujifilm’s success with Instax series of Instant Cameras and the ubiquitously popular, but hard to get Polaroid instant cameras, Leica has chose to join the gang. The Sofort even has a mirror on the front to help with selfie framing. You can shoot with regular ol’ Fujifilm Instax Mini film, or opt for one of two Leica-branded variants that roll out your tiny pics in either black and white, or color but with a cream-colored border. The camera will come in three colors: white, orange, or mint green, which is nearly, but not quite, the color of money.

The Leica Sofort is slated to release in November for $299 Dollars.

A comprehensive range of accessories for both the camera and its pictures will be available including camera straps and cases in matching colours and SOFORT Storage Boxes as well as postcards, photo albums and presenter holder. Color film is also available in double packs of 20 exposures. The “Selfie” mode is especially for people who love taking selfies but out of their smartphone practice.

Passion for creating ideal pictures.

It’s certainly a odd one, given Leica’s (well-earned) reputation as a staunchly traditionalist camera maker focused on image quality above all else.
