Son, Girlfriend Arrested After Wealthy Connecticut Couple’s Remains Found in Yard
The Connecticut medical examiner’s office says remains found during a search connected to the disappearance of a married couple are those of two people, but their identities haven’t yet been confirmed. Police secured an active arrest warrant for Kyle Navin, who was already in federal custody. Police have charged their son, Kyle Navin with their murder and arrested his girlfriend in connection with the murders.

His girlfriend, Jennifer Valiante of Westport, Connecticut, is also facing charges of conspiracy to commit murder and hindering prosecution.
A source close to the investigation into the disappearance of an Easton, Connecticut, couple said Friday that remains found in Weston are those of Jeffery and Jeannette Navin.
Earlier Friday, Assistant U.S. Attorney Tracy Dayton said there was evidence, including the discovery of the remains, that “very strongly suggests” that Kyle Navin killed his parents.
Kyle appeared in federal court in Bridgeport at noon Friday for a detention hearing. His lawyer declined to comment after the court hearing. Jeannette Navin, 55, is a school library aide in Weston.
Text messages exchanged between Jeffrey Navin and Kyle Navin referenced whether the mother was ok. A judge ordered Friday that Navin be kept in custody.
Five days after the couple was last seen, their vehicle was found in a commuter parking lot off of the Merritt Parkway in Westport, state police said.
Search warrants indicate that Kyle Navin changed his story four times as to when the last time he saw his parents.
The day after his parents vanished, Kyle bought germicidal bleach, drain opener, stain remover and contractor-clean-up bags, police said.
She was being held on $2 million bond.
When police told him that his brother was a person of interest in his parents” disappearance, he said, “When I heard my parents were missing I thought to myself, “they either went on vacation, or my brother did something to them'”.
The couple was reported missing on August 7 by a relative after Jeffrey Navin didn’t show up for his garbage route. The company’s website lists Jeffrey Navin as its president and Kyle Navin as its operations manager.
The property has been vacant for around 10 years and officers “located areas in the yard that appeared suspicious and may contain evidence that may be linked to the Navin case”, said Troxell, who added that items in the yard did not fit with yard work that was being done.
Kyle Navin, wearing a olive green prison outfit, sat next to his attorney, Eugene Riccio, and had no reaction when Dayton told the court authorities had found the remains and that he was a suspect in the deaths.
And then there was the history of emotional and verbal abuse by Jeffrey Navin to his son.
