New images released Wednesday show the kidnapping of the adult son of Mexican drug kingpin Joaquin “El Chapo” Guzman, according to CNN.

(Vatican Radio) Mexican authorities confirm that one of six men abducted at gunpoint from a restaurant in the global vacation resort of Puerto Vallarta is a son of the jailed leader of the Sinaloa drug cartel.
“It isn’t until boarding one of the two planes that I realize that our driver had been the 29-year old son of El Chapo, Alfredo Guzmán”, Penn says in the story.
The Mirror reported that, according to police sources, the abduction was a “settling of scores” as El-Chapo waits for extradition to the United States to stand trial for drug trafficking charges.
He added that four of the six kidnapped people had already been identified, without providing further details.
The Jalisco gang’s power and reach have grown rapidly in recent years, often in direct competition with Guzman’s cartel, which has always been considered the strongest criminal organization in Mexico.
Witness interviews, surveillance video and a search of five vehicles parked outside La Leche led to the identification of Jesus Alfredo and three other men, all with ties to organized crime, Almaguer said. Guzman is the alleged kingpin of the Sinaloa Cartel, believed responsible for trafficking billions of dollars of cocaine into the USA amidst gang warfare in parts of Mexico and South America.
Initial reports suggest that CJNG operatives ambushed and kidnapped high-ranking members of the Sinaloa Cartel while they were celebrating a night out.
Chapo Guzman is being held at a prison in Ciudad Juarez, located across the border from El Paso, Texas.
Mexican authorities are searching for the missing men as well as those responsible, Almaguer said.
