Sony Add 4K, HDR To PlayStation4 Pro

Sony revealed the Asian region release details for its PlayStation 4 Slim and PlayStation 4 Pro consoles during its press conference on Thursday. While the new console will enable higher frame rates in 1080p, it won’t guarantee the current holy grail of gaming – 4k gaming at 60 frames per second. Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare will also take advantage of the PS4 Pro on day-one, as well as Mass Effect: Andromeda.

At 30% reduced size, the new model PS4 offers great value for the gamer and will also join the HDR revolution from next week.

The PS4 Pro, which boasts sharper graphics and faster processing, will hit the shops on November 10 priced at 399 dollars and targets more dedicated gamers.

This is a revision of the original PS4 without any claimed boost in performance.

What can the PS4 Pro do? We will likely see Sony PS4 Pro Black Friday 2016 deals in the shape of bundles that include a fitting TV.

The PlayStation 4 Pro might be the best choice for those wanting to buy into PlayStation VR when that headset is launched on 13 October.

Sony also used the PlayStation Meeting to officially announce the PlayStation 4 Slim.

Penello, who has a reputation for being considerably less respectful of competing companies than Xbox boss Phil Spencer, claimed that the Xbox One S was more “feature-complete” than the PS4 Slim, and even the PS4 Pro.

With regard to non-game content, the PS4 Pro will provide 4K/Ultra HD streaming playback from Netflix and YouTube, plus other services to be named later.

Sony also revealed that any games you purchase will work on both the standard PS4 and the PS4 Pro, regardless of whether or not you purchased a physical or virtual copy.

Considering the capabilities, that’s a remarkable price for a console that costs the same as the original PS4 did when it first launched.
