Sony announces PlayStation 4 price drop
Sony is hoping that these price cuts will bring gamers who have yet to purchase to the PS4 fold.

No word yet on whether this PlayStation 4 price cut will extend to other PAL regions beyond North America, though we’ll be sure to keep you updated.
Not only is the base PS4 console having a price drop, this includes special game bundles too.
A PS4 with the three games in The Nathan Drake Collection for $350 is very good value, and you can expect retailers will drop that price even further if given the opportunity.
The PS4 will sell for $349 starting October. 9, moving it in line with the price of Microsoft’s Xbox One.
The Call of Duty: Black ops III Limited Edition 1TB PS4 bundle is set to be released on Nov. 6, Disney Infinity 3.0: Star Wars bundle is set for Nov. 13 and Star Wars Battlefront for Nov. 17.
Game studios usually create versions of hot titles for both major consoles to cater to a broad audience of players.
Since then, while in a few months the Xbox One managed to overtake the PS4, Sony’s home console has remained in the lead in most territories of the world. The new recommended price for a standard PS4 is $349.99 United States dollars / $429.99 CAD (around €309).
As a reminder, the Kinect-less Xbox One is already available for $349 in the US and €349/£279 in Europe.
Sony and Microsoft earlier this year introduced consoles with ramped-up storage space, playing into a trend of people downloading game software onto drives instead of buying disks.

According to a report from Polygon, this is a new scheme from Sony, designed for the PS4 to deliver “personalised, curated content” to its users. Sony also announced a handful of upcoming bundles at various price points. What’s different this time around is he’ll be able to say, “C’mom pop, Sony slashed the price by $50!”
