For PS Vita owners, this is disappointing news for sure, but not surprising in the least.

“Currently, there are no first-party titles in development for the PS Vita”, Itō said. Itō confirmed that current PlayStation 4 units are incompatible with Ultra HD Blu-ray Discs, but the company is considering developing enhanced models that are compatible.

Sony is doing a lot to promote the PlayStation 4, including a price drop and holding the PlayStation Experience to show their upcoming games. People were so excited to be able to play PS2 graphics games on the go. “The types of games on PSP were not as attractive”, Yoshida told Game Informer.

In an interview with Japanese gaming site 4Gamer, Ito weighed with his thoughts on the possibility of improving the performance of the the console going forward.

Finishing with, “Currently, first party studios have no titles in development for Vita”. But as it turns out, Sony is no longer willing to engage that much on its PS Vita.

The PS Vita launched back in 2011 and since then has only been given a handful of exclusive games.
