Sony XDev Europe and PlayStation United Kingdom posted tweets about the emulation news, asking fans which games they’d like to see.
So what made us think that this has been coming for a while before it was officially announced?
Gamer Headlines reported that several PlayStation 2 games were given a PEGI age rating once they are released on Sony’s newest console. Well a certain PS4 bundle, the Star Wars limited edition bundle to be exact, held the key to the answer. The publication tried out Star Wars PS2 games on PlayStation 4, here is what they said in their report: “The emulator is clearly running these games more smoothly, with Jedi Starfighter hitting 60fps while the game running on PS2 hardware has nothing like that level of output”. Because let’s face it: if we are going to see a few PlayStation 2 games with neat graphics that is going to be very sweet, but we are most likely going to see PS 2 games with PS 2 graphics which look a little shinier. This feature is not applicable to games that run via peripherals such as the Kinect.
Video game technology has really come a long road providing players with a better playing experience and more games to play.
In fact, the PS2 logo appears whenever you launch the old games and the button prompts are all mapped as if you are using a DualShock 2. Not only were the Xbox 360 games ported to the Xbox One, the games were also on the receiving end of minor graphical enhancements.
