Sony joins OLED gold rush at CES, embraces Dolby Vision
Dubbed ‘Wallpaper’ but branded W7, the TV is a giant 65-inch OLED that is just 2.57mm thick – making it one of the thinnest TVs to be produced.

TCL has worked with Roku since 2014 to incorporate the platform into their smart TVs, but this group of products is by far the most ambitious and best quality.
The BRAVIA OLED A1E series starts at an already large 55-inch model all the way up to a ginormous 77-inch one.
The X1 Extreme precisely controls the tremendous number of pixels and extends the capability of OLED to deliver an exquisite 4K HDR picture.
Sony’s CES isn’t all about OLED though.
LG’s W-series wallpaper OLED is now available for pre-order at a price of $8,000, and is expected to start arriving on retail shelves as early as March, while Alessi says the company’s new Super UHD models will begin arriving between March and April. Combined with the skinny bezels, it leaves the OLED looking as though it’s floating – though of course you do have a cable or two to contend with.
Sizes, Prices: The 4K models in the S series will be available in March in sizes from 43 to 65 inches at prices starting at $369. Despite its big size, it retains the thinness equivalent to a paper. We’ve honestly never seen weight profiles like these before for such enormous 4K TV units! It weighs 17 pounds. This is possible because OLED screens don’t require a backlight, according to the Tokyo-based company. They refer to this as a Picture-On-Wall aesthetic because the TV is as thin as a picture (thinner than some really) and it attaches directly to the wall.
The main screen connects to the Soundbar via a proprietary cable; however, the unit can not be put on a stand but mounted on a wall via a magnetic bracket. The entry-level C7 and B7 models offer the same picture quality and Dolby Atmos compatibility.
In keeping with LG’s other HDR Game updates, it doesn’t upload to your LG TV automatically.
The main improvement in this LG OLED wallpaper TV is that it is capable of becoming brighter wherever necessary in certain scenes.
