Sony maybe working on new Xperia phone with new design

Some photos of the Xperia F8331 were sent to GSMArena. The sides of the phone are curved, whereas previous Xperia phones have been flat on all four sides, and the back of the phone houses a dual LED flash setup, which is another notable change from previous Sony devices.

Sony maybe secretly working on its next-generation flagship phone and chances are it could feature an all-new design, different from what we’ve grown to associate with the company’s Xperia Z line-up. The phone has a brushed metal case, which gives a premium look to the device. There are still front-facing stereo speakers and the NFC sensor has moved around to the front of the phone.

Based on the images, the Xperia F8331’s power button will still be located on the side, possibly next to the fingerprint sensor.

Going by the indications, the Sony Xperia X2 handset will be a high-end smartphone, equipped with a 5.1-inch full 1080p HD touchscreen which features 5 finger gesture support, and powered by a Snapdragon 820 processor. The phone is said to have 3GB RAM and 32GB internal memory storage.

As for the smartphone’s OS, it is unlikely that Google will release its next OS – Android 7.0 Nougat – in September, which means that Sony fans will see the Xperia F8331 running on Android 6.0 Marshmallow straight out of the box.

There’s still the spacious panel at the bottom area of the screen but underneath is a USB Type-C port plus the 3.5mm jack.

Sony has not confirmed any details regarding the specs or launch date of its next flagship phone.

As with any rumor, it’s best to take this with a grain of salt until Sony makes an official announcement.

Both the front and rear cameras are capable of 4K video capture, which is a big change.
