Sony Plans New Men in Black Trilogy Without Will Smith
It doesn’t seem like the studio will repeat the same process anytime soon, and have turned to married producers Walter Parkes and Laurie MacDonald to relaunch the franchise as a trilogy.

Sony is moving forward with a new Men in Black trilogy, but it appears Will Smith is hanging up his black suit and sunglasses. If anyone would know about plans to resurrect the Men in Black franchise, it’s them.
Whatever the case, McDonald added that Sony is planning to revive the series as a trilogy. “We’re in the middle of it. It’s very active,” Parkes told the trade.
Is Will Smith going to be part of it? However, neither Parkes nor MacDonald commented on whether or not the new trilogy would involve the Jump Street franchise. So far, so pretty much standard for Hollywood these days.
The existence of a new reboot raises plenty of questions.
We can only hope that Tommy Lee Jones will be back, as it’s nearly impossible to imagine MIB without either of the original stars, but we’re guessing it will be an all-new cast.

The 21 Jump Street female spinoff may still end up happening as Collider reported before the summer. Will Smith recently finished work on Suicide Squad and has a few other projects to work on, including the rumored Bad Boys 3 and Bad Boys 4 sequels. Either way, it looks like we haven’t seen the last of the Men in Black.
