Sony PlayStation 4 Leaves Microsoft Xbox One Biting The Dust

Spencer has been working tirelessly to help turn around the Xbox One’s image problem it obtained during launch, so it’s nice to see that he pays Nintendo the respect they deserve for their fantastic first party software. The group also stated that the amount has increased 6 percent from PS4’s sales the same time previous year.

Overall sales of new video game products at U.S. retail rose 6% year over year to $542 million, NPD said. A Sony spokesman stated in interview with GamesBeat, “We are truly humbled by the success of the PS4, and we would like to thank gamers for making it the top-selling console and No. 1 in software sales in the United States in July”. Despite placing second in sales, the Xbox One’s sales are doing fine. The demand for these consoles continue to grow, and the demand is being met. This suggests that more gamers are being born, and have the need to play some games. With Xbox 360, Nintendo 3DS and PS3 sales coming ahead of the current-gen consoles, it likely symbolizes the cornering of a last-gen market hard up for new games before finally taking that dip into the PS4/Xbox One/Wii U era, while Arkham Knight selling well in unaccounted-for bundles. Both games are published from Warner Bros. Keep in mind, however, that the data doesn’t include games bundled with consoles. With little in the way of big system sellers this month, there is no surprise that the PS4 has once again come out on top of the monthly NPDs. The downfall is over, and the companies are selling their consoles and titles faster than ever.

Since the introduction of new game hardware from Microsoft and Sony in November 2013, the retail game industry has been struggling to stabilize itself as it transitions away from old hardware, released nearly 10 years ago, to new devices released in the past two years.

Backward compatibility on Xbox One allows the user to play Xbox 360 games at no additional cost.

Moore: Doesn’t matter. It’s on Xbox One, and those customers love it. We have analytics on everything these days, and subscriber satisfaction rates are through the roof.

Moore: Well Sony talked about it, ask them [laughs].
