Sony PS4 price drops to $349, all bundles reduced as well
The PS4 started its global launch back in November of 2013, and thanks to its initial $400/€400 price tag, it trumped the main competitor, Microsoft’s Xbox One, while drawing in more and more new gamers with its attractive titles.

You can now pick up the Standard Console at a new price of $349.99 USD/ $429.99 CAD (MSRP). The Limited Edition Disney Infinity 3.0: Star Wars PS4 Bundle, available beginning November 13, costs $399.99 USD/$469.99 CAD. The bundles are priced at $399.99 USD/$469.99 CAD and $349.99 USD/$429.99 CAD, respectively.
“I had honestly been holding off buying a PS4 in hopes of it getting a price drop sometime soon, so this is great news!”
Basically, in that horizontal information bar, Sony have whacked an advert for Destiny in it, which might annoy you if you’re anti-adverts, but you can opt-out of those too if you want.
So why did Sony cut its price?
“By cutting the cost right now, we plan to fuel energy of PlayStation 4 toward the year-end Christmas season”, a representative at Sony Computer Entertainment Inc., the bunch’s videogame arm, said.
Overall, this holiday season is shaping up to be potentially successful for gaming industry. The Xbox One isn’t as far behind the PS4 as it was at launch in terms of performance, but it’s still a distant second to Sony’s market-leading console.

Earlier today, SCEA VP of Marketing John Koller revealed in aPlayStation blog post that the PS4 will be receiving a $50 dollar price drop in both North America and Canada starting on October 9th. The announcement follows the same price cut to the console in Asia and is meant to boost sales before the end of the year. Xbox head Phil Spencer predicted the price of the PS4 would move in line with Microsoft’s console when he spoke to IGN last month.
