Sony releases PS4 backwards compatibility: PS2 classic games now available for PS4
Then it made them available for download immediately. “PlayStation.com/2015/12/04/fan-favorite-ps2-games-launching-on-ps4-tomorrow/” target=”_blank”>already revealead its first wave of PS2 games on the PS4, with a good portion of them being priced at a steep $14.99.

The list of PS2 classics which will be available today, which can be seen below, cover a handful of genres. Twisted Metal: Black and War of the Monsters are both $9.99 each. In addition to that, the graphics of each game had been beefed up to go on a 1080p Full HD resolution, and with support for native PS4 features such as Remote Play, Live Broadcast, Share Play, Activity Feeds, and Second Screen. Sony started on a big note by showcasing a new cinematic cut-scene of Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End and a small glimpse at Final Fantasy VII Remake gameplay. Not to mention, the company teased the future addition of Arc the Lad: Twilight of the Spirits, Fantavision, PaRappa the Rapper 2, The King of Fighters 2000. Sony has been gaining a major edge in the markets of gaming with the PS devices, and the latest in the line of Sony’s releases is the Sony PS4 which came out 2013. Instead of allowing gamers to use their old PS2 library of games in the PlayStation 4, users will need to pay for the new versions of the game via PlayStation Store.
“While there was an argument that hardware based backwards compatibility was more costly, something that was sadly ripped out from the PS3 shortly after its launch, the same excuse for the absence of software emulation on the PS4 won’t fly here”.
Sony’s VR device was first revealed as part of the two-hour keynote delivered during the first day of the event. I think for now, Sony should pump the brakes a little on the VR drive and focus more on traditional immersion in video games. Microsoft nor Nintendo offer anything like PlayStation Now.
Sony continue to leave no doubts as to their commitment to the virtual reality space they’re about to enter in 2016, with another slew of titles developed for their PlayStation VR platform.
The problem with PlayStation Now was pricing.

In other related news, Sony last month announced that it has sold 30.2 million units of the PS4 globally, making it the fastest selling console in the company’s history.
