Sony’s PlayStation 4 ‘Shingen’ update adds HDR support to every PS4 console

Since many people are likely to jump to the upcoming PlayStation 4 Pro, Sony has introduced a method to transfer your data easily as promised. Judging by the initial ‘39,990 launch price of the PS4 in India (which also cost $399) it’s safe to assume that the slim will cost ‘29,990 and the Pro will set you back Rs 39,990.

Profile update – User profiles now look slightly different and you can much easier see what games they play and the trophies they have gained. It’s also more customizable than before and has several new menu items, plus an enhanced Music section that was featured in the beta program. The PS4 Pro is scheduled for release on November 10. For the PS4 Pro, the 1080p streaming will be available for Remote Play on PC/Mac and other compatible devices as well as for Share Play.

That’s because while your original PS4 – the actual original or the new slimmer model – does indeed support HDR from today, now there’s nothing you can run on it that makes use of the tech.

Hey PS4 users! I hope you’re ready for an overhauled PS4, because the 4.00 update is so dynamic it has its own codename. With the news we’ve unveiled today and PS VR launching on October 13, there’s never been a better time to join the PlayStation community.

The latest console from Sony, PS4 Pro, is supposed to provide more power for 4K gaming. This will allow you to be able to see what your friends did while you were away.

One of the big requests we get is for more options to organize content on PS4.

Sony could be announcing the release of its lighter console – the PS4 Slim – this coming September. You can access it by pressing down on a game tile while on the home screen. Shingen will help you transfer your data to that fancy new system.

Whether you’re playing on PlayStation 4 Pro, the new slim version PS4, or the PS4 system you bought in 2013, you’ll have access to the same awesome games with the same features and same community that make PlayStation the best.

While not providing native 4k gaming or a guaranteed jump to 60 fps on HDTVs, Sony is positioning it as a “good enough” console for the mass market at a cheap price point.
