Sony slashes PS4 price to $350, including a game

The Limited Edition Star Wars Battlefront bundle and the Limited Edition Disney Infinity 3.0: Star Wars bundles will now cost $399.99, which is also a drop of 50 bucks from their original price points. This ties in with reports earlier this week that Sony was looking to possibly integrate adverts into the home screen of the Playstation 4.

Sony has finally slashed the price of its PS4 console in the USA and Canada, which will now be available for $349 and $429 respectively. As of this summer, Sony’s PlayStation 4 has posted total units sold worldwide at about 25 million, which is nearly double that of the Xbox One. In August, Microsoft had said Xbox One sales in the US increased by 26 percent in the month from the same period a year ago.

A good answer could perhaps be on the available games on the game consoles which is, apparently, another factor for consumers to consider.

Sony’s newly announced price adjustment to the PlayStation 4 looks to put pressure on Microsoft’s Xbox One console.

As the fall holiday gaming season swings into motion, Sony has chose to bump down the price of its console.

Back in September, Sony announced a price drop for the system in Japan during the Tokyo Game Show leading many to believe that a price cut was on the way stateside. This Limited Edition will launch alongside Black Ops III on November 6. The Uncharted bundle’s release date is October 9, and the Star Wars Battlefront bundle is set to be released on November 17, 2015. While speaking at the 2015 GeekWire Summit, Xbox chief Phil Spencer was asked if the Xbox One could make a trick come-from-behind move to eventually overtake the PlayStation 4.

The price of a number of game consoles and bundles have been reduced in the United States market in recent weeks.

The announcement marks the first price drop for the PS4 in its almost two year history. Theoretically, shoppers can return their PS4 bundle to the store they purchased it to get a refund, then repurchase that same bundle at the lower price tomorrow.
