Sony starts making premium smartphones in Thailand
Your Xperia Z5 or Z5 Compact might need less or more fine-tuning, but not to the extremes. Like the rest of the Xperia family, the Z5 Compact is waterproof, though it now comes without the fiddly flaps that were griped about by owners of the older devices. It has a 23-megapixel rear camera with IMX300 sensor, and it’s juiced by a 3100 mAh battery.

Considering the growing trend of 2k and even 4K displays on smartphones, a full HD display does not seem much tempting for a flagship handset priced at Rs 53,000.
The Xperia Z5 range got the first camera upgrade since the Xperia Z1 with the new 23Mp shooter so will the Xperia Z6 get another upgrade? A fingerprint scanner is incorporated within the Power button.
While it’s not certain or clear whether Sony indeed is changing its release cycles, it appears that it may be slowing down its flagship phone release to once a year, instead of the two-a-year cycle it had been following since 2013.
Hot on the heels of the announcement yesterday of the Xperia C5 Ultra, Sony’s announcing another release for the Australian market today – this time, it’s the Xperia M5. Not that the Xperia Z5, Xperia Z5 Premium, and Xperia Z5 Compact are not already enjoying a decent battery life. Both phones run on the Android 5.1 Lollipop operating system.
Despite the smaller size of the smartphone, Sony has still managed to pack in a 4.6in screen – only 0.1in smaller than the much larger iPhone 6.
A couple of months ago at IFA in Berlin, Sony was lifting the veil on its latest smartphone lineup, consisting in three different handsets bearing the “Xperia Z5” moniker. Just like most of the smartphones with metal and glass construction, Xperia Z5 Dual is quite slippery and you have to handle it carefully. The Z5 compact has also got more screen and less bezel than its previous gen compact counterpart. At a humble 4.7 inches, the iPhone 6s has about 326ppi of display clarity, a really powerful Apple A9 processor, 2GB RAM, 16, 64 or 128GB internal storage, a 12MP rear camera and 5MP front camera, as well as a fingerprint sensor and the new Force Touch functionality. The smartphone supports Quick charge 2.0 and the battery recharges upto 35 percent with the bundled charger in 30 minutes. It also has a frosted glass back which makes the device look more appealing to the eye and feel cooler to the touch.
Sony must have placed a huge emphasis on the Xperia Z5’s camera and battery features as indicated by the stronger specs that the handset bears compared to its rivals.
There are quite a few pre-loaded applications such as Mortal Combat 5, Real Football 2015, Thor, Hungama, Sony Liv, etc. but thankfully you can uninstall majority.

Join us after the break and we’ll talk more. Having said that, the phone’s 2900mAh battery drains quite fast when compared with other flagship smartphones such as Galaxy S6 Edge and the predecessor Xperia Z3+ even during the basic tasks such as camera usage. The Z5 compact camera also impressed with its responsiveness.
