Sony unveils new PS4 made for the ultimate gamer

The long rumoured Sony PS4 Neo has finally been revealed to be the PlayStation 4 Pro, capable of 4K gameplay resolutions along with HDR, something that Microsoft has promised with its Xbox Scorpion project slated to release next year. Sony priced the Sony PS4 Pro at $399.99, which is $100 more than the new slim Sony PS4. The PS4 Pro supports 4K and HDR for game play and video playback.

In addition, not every game will support 4K, but 4K streaming is already available through Netflix, Amazon, Youtube, and other services. The slim model will simply replace the launch PS4 as the new standard console on store shelves, but the PS4 Pro will be a genuine upgrade, bringing new features and improvements to the PlayStation 4. This makes the PlayStation 4 Pro flawless for gamers, less so for those who also want the highest-quality home theater experience possible.

Arguably the two most powerful companies in gaming – Sony and Microsoft – have both recently announced the launching of new consoles that will take gaming to new levels. The PS4 Pro does everything except 4K Blue-rays.

What are your thoughts on the PS4 Pro’s lack of a fancy Blu-ray player? But with three consoles now bearing the PS4 name, you might be wondering what the differences are and which one is worth getting.

The Witness now runs at 60fps on the PlayStation 4, and it will do the same on the PS4 Pro. One reason for the decision may be Sony’s ability to offer the box at a lower price – £349, in line with the PS4’s original launch cost.
