Sony working on updated PS4
However, given what Microsoft is planning with Xbox One, it wouldn’t be at all surprising if Sony does something similar with the PS4. “Rocket League” is coming as one of the introductory titles to support the feature, while other console game makers have also been given “invitation” to join the club, Xbox News reported. “That’s great news because we can invest in promotion, doing trials, developer support without bleeding money by selling the PS VR hardware”.

Sony might be working on a more powerful version of its PlayStation 4, Kotaku reports. The PS4.5, as it’s being called, will be more competitive with PC hardware when it comes to running VR headsets, as well.
However, this would be a huge upgrade because the current console games are in high-definition at 1080p, while 4K offers 4,000 pixels in resolution. This left the current PlayStation 4 users in a big dilemma, and will be a big surprise, when Sony officially announces the device. Kotaku reports that various developers-who have themselves been talking with Sony about all sorts of things-are the source of the “PS4K” rumors.
Earlier this year also Xbox head Phil Spencer hinted that the Xbox One would get upgrade which would make it possible to upgrade the console like a desktop computer.
Xbox One has sold just over 20 million consoles, compared to Sony’s sales of almost 39 million PlayStation 4, according to video game stat tracker VGChartz.
When asked about the content, Boyes said that Sony has already strengthened its relationship with some independent developers, pointing out that there will be some VR games that will be released sometime in the near future.
With the possibility of cross-network and the reality of cross-platform play-at least for Xbox Live gamers-a PS4.5 would be a bandaid on a festering sore.
