Meanwhile, the mid-range Sony-branded Xperia X Compact will arrive in the United States on September 25.

Another piece of good news is that despite the relatively hefty price tag, it’s very probable that you’ll be able to find a sweeter deal from certain retailers with the new Xperia XZ release, as that happened in the past numerous times. It’s powered by the same Snapdragon 820 processor that you find in nearly every other Android flagship device. Although it boasts a 23-megapixel camera, we all know that megapixels don’t tell the whole story. This results in high quality sound to match the high quality images produced by the handset.

Other Xperia XZ specs include a 5.2-inch 1920×1080 display, Snapdragon 820 processor, 3GB of RAM, 32GB of storage, a microSD slot, USB Type-C, fingerprint reader, and a 2900mAh battery.

The all new Xperia XZ represents the ultimate in Sony Xperia’s state-of-the-art camera, video and audio capabilities. The Xperia XZ also has a stereo dual microphone system with noise cancellation. All of these features, along with a 5.2-inch Corning® Gorilla® Glass 4 Full HD display and a stunning loop surface design inspired by a monolithic form made with ALKALEIDO™ metal, gives you a stylish, durable and powerful smartphone loaded with the latest in audio-visual innovation from Sony. The camera-centric devices called the Xperia XZ and the X Compact seemed to impress quite a few people but the Japanese firm hadn’t revealed any details on when the handsets would go on sale and how much they would cost.

The Xperia X Compact is largely similar, but with a smaller 4.6-inch 720p display, lack of 4K recording, and 5-megapixel front camera.
