Sony Xperia Z5 Press Renders Surface Ahead of IFA Launch

Sony is on the verge of launching its Xperia Z5 phone at the IFA event in Berlin next week, and rumour tongues have already started wagging. In a separate leak, the infamous Evan Blass has shared a Twitter post suggesting that the Z5 will be accompanied by an Xperia Z5 Compact and Xperia Z5 Premium, which is also reportedly called Xperia Z5 Plus. The leaked images confirm key configuration details of the upcoming flagship device. You can get your best look at the new phones at the Xperia Blog (naturally), which uncovered some promotional images that Sony let slip. The Sony Xperia C5 Ultra smartphone incorporates an industry first twin 13-megapixel front and rear digital camera, which offers breathtaking high-resolution imagery. Tipped by @vizileaks, the leaked image shows two Xperia handsets along with an iPhone, which is placed between the two Sony devices. The site further claims that it is actually a “1/2.3-inch 23MP Exmor RS camera with six-lens system”.

The much anticipated IFA 2015 is just a week away from us. Also, it is believed that, the device will be backed by either a 3 GB or 4 GB of RAM capacity. The handset will bear the familiar Omnibalance design characteristic of Sony’s devices.

The first one will be tagged as the Z5, that will include the regular flagship chops, with Z5 Premium/Plus with a bigger screen and the Z5 Compact that will carry on the “Compact” tradition.

Earlier this month Sony announced the Xperia C5 Ultra.

In fact, if Sony doesn’t launch the Z5 Premium in India soon, it would be downright embarrassing for the brand in the Indian market to not have a model with a display resolution higher than full-HD. We don’t know whether that will change with the Z5, but we are beginning to get a sense of what the new features in the Z5 will be thanks to the leaks. Other specs haven’t been revealed yet, so we will have to wait until September 2 for the Sony press conference to begin.
