Sony may be planning to use the upcoming Bond adventure Spectre as a launchpad for its latest flagship, the Xperia Z5.

It looks like Sony will be launching a second flagship smartphone this year, even though the Japanese company initially stated that it will only release one high-end device per year. “Spectre” might feature the new smartphone several times, and the device might actually launch with the film. The Verge reported that there were previous disputes over the smartphone that James Bond would be holding in the next film.

According to prolific rumour-spinner “Leaksfly” (via Mobipicker), the unconfirmed Xperia Z5 will feature a 5.5-inch 1080p display. Sony’s last flagship model was the Xperia Z4 aka Xperia Z3+. This handset is also bigger than Xperia T4 Ultra with 5.8 inch screen and a resolution of 1080 x 1920 pixels. The 64-bit MediaTek processor will be backed up by 2 GB of RAM and the C5 Ultra will include 16 GB of internal storage, plus a MicroSD card.

If this turns out to be true the same 20.7MP sensor will be the set up for a rear camera but the front shooter will be upped to 8MP. Earlier rumors said the new phone will run on the new Android 5.1.1 Lollipop operating system (OS). The two are codenamed Xperia E6603 and E5803 respectively. The smartphones’ specifications are still pretty much speculation with most saying that the new units will come with the same Snapdragon 810 CPU, while others say that the new Z lineups will feature the yet-to-be-released Snapdragon 820 chipset.

Also, the Sony Xperia Z5 is speculated to come with a powerful 21-megapixel rear camera along with a fingerprint scanning technology. The retail price is yet to be confirmed by Sony.
