Soon, enjoy Facebook Messenger on Mac computer at home

According to a report, Facebook is working on a version of Messenger for Mac.

According to the eyewitness account and the photograph, the app utilized by the worker included the Messenger emblem because the icon within the app dock, and was named Messenger within the menu bar. A Mac OS X app would, however, give Facebook complete control over the appearance and functionality of the program and differentiate it from mobile-only rivals. The photographic evicence attained shows Facebook employee using it.

Shortly Facebook will be building Facebook Messenger for Mac computer that will make it easy to access for the Apple users in thier home straight from the dock. These tabs are matching the Messenger for iOS mobile app too. Though Messenger has huge reach, it still remains to be a personal chat app. With new players like Slack taking on business users, this could also be Facebook’s initiative to invade the business segment.

“It’s unclear but seemingly unlikely that Facebook would require users to chat via the desktop software instead of the website”. Facebook initially launched the messenger app for PC, but discontinued it later.

The app is believed to be an official client rather than an unofficial product.

“One of the things we have to work on this year is this perception or mindset that Messenger is only to speak with your Facebook friends”, said Messenger head David Marcus in a phone interview on Wednesday.

That means Messenger, which Facebook created as a standalone app in 2014, has more active monthly users than rivals Snapchat and Viber, but still lags the 900 million using WhatsApp, also owned by Facebook. Yes, you can send text messages, but you can also send stickers, photos, videos, voice clips, GIFs, your location, and money to people.
