Caster Semenya of South Africa has taken Olympic gold in the women’s 800m final after running a new national record of 1:55.28 seconds. More about Semenya below.

“This racing is all going to come down to the last 50 meters, so much opens up down there”, Bishop said.
The USA topped the athletics medal table with 13 golds, 10 silvers and eight bronzes, with Team GB sixth on seven medals, matching the target set for them before the Games by UK Sport. “That was really quick through 600m but Semenya had enough left to win the title convincingly”, she told the BBC.
USA champion Kate Grace, who set a personal best in the semis to make the final, finished eighth in 1:59.57.
Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, Aug 21 (efe_epa).
The condition causes her to be hyperandrogenous, meaning her body produces much higher levels of testosterone than most other females.
Caster Semenya competes in the Women’s 800m Final at the Rio Olympic Games on 20 August, 2016.
She has since been diagnosed with hyperandrogenism, which means her testosterone levels are far in excess of the vast majority of women.
Hazel Clark of the US ran against Semenya in the semifinal that year and missed the final by one spot. The Brit is probably more dependant on her finish than Wambui, so it may be wise for her to sit near the front, but never take the lead and control the pace, as she could be overhauled.
And while it may appear to those watching the Olympics from home that Semenya is refusing to speak to reporters, journalists have actually been banned from approaching her, and she will not be not be allowed to conduct any media interviews.
In another post, Raseboya spoke about how she looked up to her partner. Her voice is deep and masculine.
At the same time, this can not be only about intersex competitors.
“Just look at her”, complained Russia’s Mariya Savinova. Not for one second did they doubt that she’s make the country proud – and indeed she did. “It is useless to compete with this, and it is not fair”.
Questions had been raised about Semenya’s gender before and during her run to the world title in 2009.
Other intimate details about her anatomy were also reported.
“My advice would be to everybody is to just go out there and have fun, and have fun in training, that’s all I can say”. “That is why they are elite athletes”. South African’s have rallied behind the athlete after ongoing criticism by foreign media regarding her eligibilty to race with other women.
Tucker thinks the answer to that is clear: They do enjoy that advantage.
During the closing press conference of the Olympics, Seb Coe, president of the International Association of Athletics Federations, addressed the topic of DSD and athletes. Back then she was taking hormones to surpress her naturally high testesterone levels, as the IAAF insisted she must do if she wanted to continue to compete.
Semenya’s spike in form has coincided with the Court of Arbitration for Sport overturning the International Association of Athletics Federations’ rule to force athletes with naturally high levels of testosterone to take hormone-suppressing drugs and Sharp insists it is now hard to compete.
The interests of females with “normal” testosterone levels must be taken into account as well.
Mbalula watched Semenya’s historical moment with the Springboks after their win against Argentina in Nelspruit on Saturday. “It’s like every single topic here is a land mine”.
In a news conference, the victorious Semenya said: “Tonight is all about performance”. But 32-year-old Chaunté Lowe, who holds the American record, showed a bit more composure through her experience and held with the top four jumpers up until the bar reached 2 meters. I have known and competed against her since 2008.

This week, she tweeted an image of a poster that reads, “I truly believe my haters are my motivators”.
